The Development Alliance

Founded in 1999, the Development Alliance is a team of strong individuals with extensive experience in helping businesses to develop their people. We specialise in leadership development, personal and interpersonal effectiveness, and the craft of facilitation. As a team, we know and respect each other’s different styles and skill-sets. This means that we can flex to meet clients’ needs in terms of both expertise and fit.

We work with clients to select the right kind of intervention: for example, we may use 1:1 coaching, intensive small group training, large group workshops, intact team development, development centres or action learning sets.

Our philosophy is that people learn best and are most open to change when they understand the context for their development. We treat our clients as adults; facilitating real conversations about real issues. We are careful to cherry pick frameworks and activities that enable participants to apply learning to real issues. Whilst we make use of tips and techniques, our key strength is in raising people’s awareness of their own impact, and in coaching them to create tailored action plans that make a real difference back in the workplace
